Regency Church has been positioned in this place at this time to help connect the heart of God with the needs of the people of this world. As we observe the world in which we live, we recognize that we live in a broken world that needs to be made whole. Even those of us inside the church have places where we have been deeply wounded and are in need of healing. It is here that the message of Jesus Christ speaks the loudest. In what we call the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) we find what we, the church, are to be and to do in order to bring Christ to the world and the world to Christ.
We are Christ's ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), bringing a message of reconciliation to this world. We, the church, are His message--living letters (2 Corinthians 3:3). If the world is to hear His message of hope and help, of love and grace, they will hear it through us, the church.
As Christ imparts his holiness (wholeness) to us, we are made whole. We are then enabled to minister that wholeness to others who are wounded and broken.
Our calling is to be a whole church for a broken world. In order to fulfill our purpose in agreement with the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, we will:
1. EXALT the Lord (Worship--Love the Lord with all your Heart)
2. EDIFY the believers (Service--Love your neighbor as yourself)
3. EQUIP the saints (Discipleship--Baptize...teach to obey)
4. EVANGELIZE the lost (Evangelism--Go and make disciples)
Being all that we have been called to be and doing all we have been called to do can only be effective if we function as a team; each person committed to discovering, developing and using the spiritual gifts given to him or her for the building of the Kingdom, in a spirit of excellence, to the glory of God. The specifics of the programming may change from time to time, but we remain focused on our primary purpose. We pursue it in the context of the following core values:
1. We believe in the authority of God's word.
2. We believe that prayer is an essential ingredient in the believer's life.
3. We believe we should have a heart for the lost.
4. We believe spiritual gifts should flow in the life of the believer.
5. We believe worship is foundational to a relationship with God.
6. We believe we should have the servant heart of Jesus.
7. We believe we should minister out of love for people.
8. We believe we should be good stewards of what God has given us.
9. We believe we should accept others just as we have been loved, accepted, and forgiven in Christ Jesus.
